He Is1
He is! He just is. He said of Himself, "I AM WHO I AM".2 He is the very definition of existence and reality. Apart from Him there is absolutely nothing. Nothing can nor does exist, if He does not exist.3 He is One,4 the only true God5 and besides Him there is no other.6 There is none who is His equal.7 He is infinite and unchanging8 in His Holy divine essence. He exists in eternity, in the ever present moment. Time does not pass for Him. He speaks, He decrees, and time happens. He is the Creator9 of all else that exists, including time; He is the LORD of time and all else.
The LORD is not limited in any way, except in how He chooses to limit Himself. He does whatever He wills,10 and knows whatever He wills. Nothing can be hidden or kept from Him. Whatever He wills is Holy, Pure, Perfect, Good, Beautiful, and True.
He is a personal God, who has revealed Himself by His personal name, His covenant name, YHWH11 (the Tetragrammaton, transliterated from the Hebrew יהוה), which is a form of His self-declaration "I AM WHO I AM". The name of God, YHWH (יהוה), is derived from the Hebrew verb HYH (היה), which is the formal equivalent of the English verb “to be” and communicates the concept of being, of existing.
The required and only proper response from each and every one of us His creatures is to fall on our knees and our faces before Him in complete submission and worship, proclaiming “Thou Art! You Are LORD! To You alone be all glory!”.12
